Tech Tuesday Media Literacy: Helping Students Make Sense of their Digital World Facilitator: Ben Sondgeroth Tuesday, February 8th (3:30 - 4:30 p.m.) Can your students spot fake news? Do they know how to evaluate sources for research? Are they aware of how social media works and its impact on their everyday life? Our students are immersed in more digital media than any previous generation, making media literacy skills more critical than ever. Join this session to develop your own media literacy awareness, explore resources and lesson materials, and prepare to teach key concepts to your students so they can safely access, analyze, and create digital media. This session will be interactive as you will experience lessons the way students will - rich with self-reflection, analysis, and discussion. This workshop is geared towards grades 6-12, and will address the new Media Literacy mandate in HB0234. However, the information shared is applicable to all teachers and students! https://www.roe47.org/page/pl-opportunities-workshops
