The Career Pathway Video Series was created through the CTE Education Grant that is provided through a partnership between Sauk Valley Community College and Lee-Ogle-Whiteside Regional Office Education #47. With the help of Grot Imaging Studio, area professionals were interviewed in their career field to provide students with a real-world understanding of their professional journey. In these videos, participants address questions that will give students a better understanding of the importance of traditional coursework and the transition to post secondary options. We would like to introduce the ROE 47 programming staff, serving Lee, Ogle and Whiteside counties. Make sure to check out our Tuesday posts as we continue to introduce the friendly faces that are here to serve you! Chanda McDonnell works as a Pathway Navigator with the CCR Pathway Grant. Chanda enjoys working with area schools to build an education pathway to help students become educators. In her free time, she likes to work on puzzles and sewing and also enjoys karaoke night with her husband. Chanda has been married to her husband, Sean, for twenty-four years. They have three children; Mary, Liam and Seamus. Chanda says she has taken an untraditional route to my college education. “I graduated with my bachelor's in education in 2007. I taught for thirteen years, then went back to school to earn my master's in administrative leadership in May of 2020. I began my career at the ROE 47 in the summer of 2020.” This year Chanda is looking forward to building stronger relationships with the schools she works with and helping them build a successful pathway.
