The ROE 47 Professional Learning & Educational Services team seeks administrators and counselors to join Lee, Ogle, Whiteside community organizations and provide a voice for the mental health needs of our schools via the new Community Partnership Mental Health advisory group. This opportunity includes quarterly planning/data/feedback meetings and a voice in the services we provide to our communities through this grant opportunity. The official kick off is scheduled for Friday, September 16th from 9-11 a.m. at Sauk Valley Community College room 2k2. At our kick off meeting, we will: Review project goals and deliverables Introduce staff & roles Review current planning and implementation in relation partnership goals, including MOUs Engage in active planning as a group around program goals, especially addressing the following community needs: student voice, substance use disorder prevention and treatment, early childhood, LGBTQ+ populations, homeless and youth in care, and marginalized communities If you are interested in participating in this unique opportunity , agarza@roe47.org!

Fun Fact: After the first week of school, twenty (20) families had been referred to the Nexus Program by partnering school districts throughout Whiteside, Lee and Ogle Counties. Nexus is a support program offered by the Regional Office of Education #47 for participating school districts in Lee, Ogle, and Whiteside Counties. Nexus supports the whole child/children by supporting the whole family. Through personal, respectful, and confidential interactions with a trained Family Support Staff, families create goals geared towards social-emotional needs, school readiness, and overall family well-being. The Family Support Staff connects and helps families navigate local community resources, thus creating a stronger community. School Celebration St. Mary's in Dixon Submitted by Jean Spohn St. Mary's School in Dixon welcomes back our students with a delicious ice cream treat. Our junior high section was freshly painted.
