FROM THE DESK OF: SCHOOL COUNSELOR MRS. MEUMANN Fulton Elementary School Here are some easy summer learning tips: Summer reading should be FUN reading. Encourage your child to read anything and everything that interests him or her. A great way to start the end of the school year is with a special trip to the library or bookstore. Have fun with numbers. Find creative ways to practice math by asking your child to help tally the bill at the grocery store, calculate time, or follow a recipe. Turn off the screens. A little bit of screen time is okay, but too much is not healthy. Monitor and limit screen time in the summer just as you would during the school year. Make art-Let the summer months be when your child discovers that he or she has the amazing ability to create through art. Go outside-Enjoy a bike ride, go for a walk, visit a park, blow bubbles, draw with sidewalk chalk
