ROE #47 coordinates the delivery of the regional spelling bee each February. Each school with fifth through eighth grade students can send a school champion to compete in the Regional Bee. The winner of this regional bee competes in Washington, D.C., in the National Spelling Bee in May. Sponsors cover the expenses of the trip for the winner and one adult.
