Regional Spelling Bee
Sign-up to participate in the Lee-Ogle-Whiteside Regional Spelling Bee has started. Early Bird sign-up goes from August 22nd until October 17th for a cost of $160.00 via www.spellingbee.com.
Spelling Bee practice will be held on Wednesday, February 20th from 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. at the Dixon High School Auditorium.
The Regional Spelling Bee will be held on Thursday, February 21st at the Dixon High School Auditorium from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. This end time is an estimate which will depend on how the competition proceeds throughout the morning.
The Regional Spelling Bee is for Grades 5th – 8th. One school winner from each registered school is allowed to participate that day.
New Programs at Tri-County
Tri-County has developed a few new programs. One of these programs is the School Supply Program. Currently when you call they will take the person's name and number to add them to the list. Once the funding is available they will call people to set up an appointment. If they family meets all the criteria they will be eligible for a voucher of up to $100 per student. The other programs that have been created are listed on the second page of the flyer.
Summer Food Program
Free healthy and nutritious summer meals are available for children and teens when school is out. Free summer meals are part of the Summer Food Service Program sponsored by the United States Department of Agriculture and administered by the Illinois State Board of Education.
